Which pre-roll tube size should I choose?
Choose the pre-roll tube based on the finished product’s actual length, diameter, and required clearance for the closure.
Common starting points include:
• 78mm tubes: mini pre-rolls and vape cartridges
• 90mm PCR pop-top tubes: one or two 0.5g pre-rolls or two 0.3g pre-rolls
• 110mm tubes: king-size pre-rolls and vape pens up to approximately 10cm
• 115mm glass tubes: king-size joints or blunts
• 116mm Ocean Tubes: king-size pre-rolls, blunts, and vape pens
• 120mm glass tubes: king-size joints or blunts

How many pre-rolls fit in one tube?
Most pre-roll tubes are designed for a single pre-roll, though capacity varies by tube and finished product.
The 90mm PCR pop-top tube can hold one or two 0.5g pre-rolls or two 0.3g pre-rolls. Longer 110mm, 115mm, 116mm, and 120mm tubes are generally intended for one king-size joint or blunt.

What materials are available for pre-roll tubes?
Available materials include:

The best material depends on the product, desired presentation, package weight, closure requirements, recycled or plant-based content goals, budget, customization method, and local waste infrastructure.
Are Sana Packaging’s pre-roll tubes child-resistant certified?
Most Sana Packaging pre-roll tubes are child-resistant, but not every tube-and-closure combination has the same certification.
Current child-resistant options include:
• 78mm and 90mm PCR pop-top tubes
• 78mm, 110mm, and 116mm Ocean Tubes
• 78mm and 110mm Hemp Tubes
• 115mm glass tubes with compatible child-resistant screw-top lids
The 120mm glass tube with a natural cork cap is not child-resistant certified.
Confirm the certification, testing standard, complete package configuration, and regulatory requirements applicable to the market where the product will be sold.
Can pre-roll tubes also hold vape cartridges or vape pens?
Yes. Select pre-roll tubes can also be used for vaporizer products.
The 78mm Ocean, Hemp, and PCR tubes can accommodate appropriately sized vape cartridges. The 110mm Ocean and Hemp tubes can hold vape pens up to approximately 10cm, while the 116mm Ocean Tube can accommodate select longer vape pens.
Compatibility depends on the device’s dimensions and the clearance required by the closure. Test the exact cartridge or vape pen before production.
Are the pre-roll tubes food-grade certified and FDA-compliant?
Sana Packaging’s PCR pop-top tubes and reclaimed ocean-bound plastic tubes are food-grade certified and FDA-compliant.
Certifications and supporting documentation vary by product. Contact Sana Packaging for current food-contact, child-resistance, and material documentation for the exact tube being considered.
FDA compliance does not replace cannabis packaging requirements or other regulations applicable to the finished product.
Are pre-roll tubes airtight, odor-proof, or smell-proof?
Pre-roll tubes provide a rigid protective package, and select closures may offer airtight or odor-resistant performance. Sana Packaging does not make a blanket odor-proof or smell-proof guarantee for every tube-and-product combination.
Performance depends on the tube, closure, application, product, storage conditions, and repeated use. Test the complete package with the actual pre-roll, blunt, cartridge, or vape pen before production.
Are pre-roll tubes recyclable, biodegradable, or compostable?
The PCR and reclaimed ocean-bound plastic pre-roll tubes use pure resin types, including #1 PET, #2 HDPE, and #5 polypropylene. These materials are recyclable where local programs accept them.
The glass tubes may also be recyclable where accepted. Closures, labels, corks, tamper bands, and residual product may need to be removed or managed separately.
The hemp plastic pre-roll tubes are plant-based but are not certified as biodegradable or compostable. They should not be marketed or disposed of as biodegradable or compostable.
Recycled content, plant-based content, recyclability, biodegradability, and compostability are different material attributes. Verify actual disposal options with applicable local facilities and waste programs.
Can I order custom pre-roll tubes?
Yes. Available customization options include:

Do the pre-roll tubes include tamper-evident packaging?
Child resistance and tamper evidence are separate packaging functions.
Pre-roll tubes are not automatically tamper-evident unless the product listing or custom quote specifically includes that feature. Customizable Stone Paper Tamper Bands are available for compatible pre-roll tubes.
Confirm the tamper-evident features required by the product and sales market before finalizing the package.
How do I order or request samples of wholesale pre-roll tubes?
Pre-roll tubes are sold by the case, with volume pricing available for larger orders. Current case quantities vary by product and include:

• 1,000 units per case for 90mm PCR pop-top tubes and most ocean-bound plastic and plant-based hemp plastic tubes
