FAQs

Learn About Cannabis Automation Equipment

What is included when I order a Quick Sift Cannabis Sifting Screen?

The order includes one screen in the selected model and mesh size.

The Quick Sift Cannabis Sifting Machine, additional screens, and other automation equipment are sold separately unless specifically included in a bundle.

What is the difference between Quick Sift Mini and Quick Sift Commercial screens?

Quick Sift Mini and Quick Sift Commercial screens differ in size and compatibility:

• Quick Sift Mini screens measure approximately 12 inches in diameter and 4 inches deep.

• Quick Sift Commercial screens measure approximately 16 inches in diameter and 5 inches deep.

Both use square mesh openings. The screens are model-specific and are not interchangeable.

What mesh sizes are available?

Current Quick Sift Mini screen options include:

• 8 mesh

• 10 mesh

• 12 mesh

• 14 mesh

• 16 mesh

• 60 mesh

• 80 mesh

• 100 mesh

• 120 mesh

Current Quick Sift Commercial screen options include:

• 8 mesh

• 10 mesh

• 12 mesh

• 14 mesh

• 16 mesh

• 66 mesh

• 80 mesh

• 100 mesh

• 120 mesh

• 140 mesh

Availability may vary. Confirm the model, mesh designation, and current inventory before ordering.

What does the mesh number mean?

The mesh number generally describes the number of openings per linear inch.

Lower mesh numbers have fewer, larger openings and allow larger particles to pass through. Higher mesh numbers have more, smaller openings and are used for finer separation. The exact opening size can also depend on the thickness of the screen wire.

Which screen should I use for ground cannabis flower?

A 10-mesh or 12-mesh screen is a practical starting point for many pre-roll applications.

An 8-mesh screen provides coarser separation, while 14-mesh and 16-mesh screens allow progressively smaller particles to pass through. The best option depends on the flower, grinder setting, moisture, cone size, target weight, filling equipment, and desired smoking characteristics.

Test the finished pre-roll for weight, airflow, draw, and burn performance before standardizing the screen.

Does a finer screen always produce a better pre-roll?

No. Finer material may pack more densely, but material that is too fine can restrict airflow or produce an inconsistent burn.

The goal is a repeatable particle size that works with the flower, cone, target weight, filling equipment, and packing process.

Which screens are used for kief and fine-material separation?

Screens beginning around 60 mesh are intended for kief and other fine-material separation.

Results depend on flower condition, temperature, moisture, agitation, processing time, and the sequence of screens used. A mesh designation alone does not guarantee a specific purity, consistency, or yield.

Should I purchase more than one screen size?

Multiple screens are useful when processing different strains, moisture levels, cone sizes, or target weights.

Starting with two adjacent flower-screen sizes, such as 10 and 12 mesh, allows side-by-side testing. Add higher-mesh screens separately if kief or fine-material separation is part of the workflow.

How should Quick Sift screens be cleaned and stored?

Turn off and unplug the Quick Sift Cannabis Sifting Machine before removing the screen.

Remove residual plant material after each batch and clean the screen according to the manufacturer's instructions and your facility's sanitation procedures. Avoid bending, puncturing, or otherwise damaging the mesh. Allow the screen to dry completely before use or storage.

Store screens in a clean, dry location where the frame and mesh are protected from impacts.

How do I order the correct replacement screen?

Select the machine model first, then choose the required mesh size. Quick Sift Mini and Quick Sift Commercial screens are not interchangeable.

Contact Sana Packaging before ordering to confirm compatibility, mesh designation, current availability, and shipping options.
