Is the King Kone a fully automated pre-roll machine?
No. The King Kone is a semi-automated batch-filling machine.
An operator still needs to:
- Load the cones or compatible smoking tubes
- Prepare and distribute the ground flower
- Adjust and monitor the machine
- Remove the filled cones
- Verify finished weights
- Correct underfills or overfills
- Tamp or settle material when required
- Close the pre-rolls
- Perform quality-control inspections
- Place finished pre-rolls into retail packaging
The King Kone does not automatically weigh, close, inspect, label, package, or establish regulatory compliance for finished pre-rolls.
Additional equipment, labor, or custom integration may be required for higher levels of automation.
What is the difference between the King Kone 2.0 and King Kone Classic?
The King Kone 2.0 is the current model. It uses a higher-torque stepper motor designed to accommodate heavier production loads and generate less heat than the original motor. Its more enclosed motor housing also helps prevent residual flower from entering the motor compartment.
The King Kone Classic uses the original brushless motor and has been discontinued. Sana Packaging will continue selling its remaining Classic inventory while supplies last, but the King Kone 2.0 is recommended for new equipment purchases.
Both machines:
- Are semi-automated tabletop batch-filling machines
- Hold up to 169 cones per run
- Include attachments for 84mm, 98mm standard, and 109mm cones
- Use adjustable vertical bounce to control packing speed and intensity
- Measure approximately 15 inches × 15 inches × 25 inches
- Operate on 110V power
- Are made in the United States
- May support additional trays and tube-conversion accessories sold separately
Established King Kone accessories may be compatible with both versions, but compatibility should be confirmed for the exact tray, insert, tube diameter, and machine configuration.
Classic accessories and replacement components are subject to remaining availability.
What cone sizes can the King Kone fill?
The standard King Kone configuration includes attachments for:
- 84mm cones, commonly used for approximately 0.5g pre-rolls
- 98mm standard cones, commonly used for approximately 0.75g pre-rolls
- 109mm cones, commonly used for approximately 1g pre-rolls
These fill weights are planning references rather than guaranteed capacities.
Finished weight can vary based on:
- Flower density
- Moisture content
- Particle size
- Cone construction
- Crutch dimensions
- Machine settings
- Packing density
- Tamping process
- The amount of paper reserved for closing
A nominal cone length does not guarantee compatibility with every supplier or format. Test the actual cones, prepared flower, filling attachment, and machine settings before production.
How many pre-rolls can the King Kone produce?
The King Kone holds up to 169 cones per run. Published filling output is approximately 1,200 to 2,200 pre-rolls per hour under an efficient production workflow.
Actual output can depend on:
- Flower preparation
- Cone loading
- Machine settings
- Staffing
- Available trays
- Material handling
- Tamping
- Finished-weight verification
- Cone closing
- Quality control
- Packaging
- Changeovers and cleaning
- Equipment condition and maintenance
- Rework, downtime, and rejected units
The published rate describes filling capacity. It should not be treated as a guaranteed rate for finished pre-rolls that have been weighed, corrected, tamped, closed, inspected, and packaged.
Conduct production trials to determine the sustainable output of the complete workflow.
Can the King Kone fill specialty cones or pre-rolled smoking tubes?
Yes, with the appropriate attachments.
Additional filling trays may be available for select specialty formats, including:
- 70mm dogwalker cones
- 98mm Reefer Slim cones
- Other qualifying custom cone sizes
Filling compatible pre-rolled smoking tubes requires a separately sold Tube Conversion Kit and diameter-specific inserts.
These smoking tubes are filled with cannabis to create a finished smoking product. They are different from the retail packaging tubes used to hold completed pre-rolls.
Compatibility depends on:
- Product length
- Opening and tip diameter
- Taper
- Paper or tube thickness
- Crutch or filter construction
- Tray and insert dimensions
- Target fill weight
- Prepared flower characteristics
- Required packing density
Confirm current tray and insert availability, and test the exact cone or smoking tube before beginning a commercial production run.
What optional King Kone attachments are available?
Available options may include:
- 70mm dogwalker filling trays
- 98mm Reefer Slim filling trays
- Supplemental top and bottom trays
- Tube Conversion Kit components
- Diameter-specific smoking-tube inserts
- Volumetric metering trays
- Tamping tools and attachments
- King Kone Closer
- Clearing tools
- Custom-size attachments for eligible projects
Volumetric metering trays help distribute a repeatable volume of flower. They do not replace finished-weight verification with a calibrated scale.
Compatibility, inventory, and availability vary by machine model and attachment. Confirm the exact configuration before ordering.
How does flower preparation affect King Kone performance?
Consistent flower preparation is essential for producing uniform pre-rolls.
Flower density, moisture, particle size, stems, leaves, static, and stickiness can affect how material moves through the filling tray and settles into the cones.
Inconsistent preparation can contribute to:
- Variable finished weights
- Uneven packing density
- Restricted airflow
- Uneven burns
- Clogged openings
- Longer filling cycles
- Additional rework
- Inconsistent customer experiences
Develop and document a repeatable process for grinding, sifting, weighing, filling, tamping, closing, inspecting, and packaging each product.
Changes in strain, moisture, infusion, cone supplier, target weight, or equipment settings may require additional testing and process adjustments.
Why use the Industrial Cannabis Grinder instead of a blender or high-speed shredder?
The Industrial Cannabis Grinder uses a high-torque, low-RPM design intended to generate less heat and mechanical stress than many high-speed grinding methods.
Its continuous-feed design allows flower to be added while processed material exits into the collection container.
Interchangeable screens and removable blade configurations also provide more control over particle size, creating a more repeatable input for sifting, filling, and volumetric portioning.
Results still depend on the flower, moisture level, screen, blade configuration, feed rate, cone format, and target fill weight. Test the selected configuration before standardizing production.
How much flower can the Industrial Cannabis Grinder process?
Published grinder output is approximately one pound of flower per minute.
Actual throughput can depend on:
- Flower density
- Moisture content
- Starting material size
- Screen selection
- Blade configuration
- Feed rate
- Cleaning frequency
- Operator technique
- Required final particle size
Inspect the flower and remove rocks, metal, and other hard foreign material before grinding. Hard objects can damage the blades, screens, and grinder housing.
Published throughput should be used as a planning reference rather than a guaranteed production rate.
Which Industrial Cannabis Grinder screens are included?
The Industrial Cannabis Grinder includes three interchangeable screens:
- Small screen with 4mm openings
- Medium screen with 5.5mm openings
- Large screen with 6mm openings
Optional 2mm and 3mm screens may be available for finer material.
Smaller openings generally produce a finer particle size. However, material that is too fine may pack tightly, restrict airflow, burn unevenly, or move inconsistently through filling equipment.
Choose a screen based on the flower, desired particle size, cone format, filling process, target weight, and finished-product performance. Test the screen and blade configuration before standardizing production.
Does the Industrial Cannabis Grinder remove stems and unwanted material?
No. The Industrial Cannabis Grinder reduces cannabis flower to a more consistent particle size, but it does not separate stems, leaves, or other unwanted material.
A Quick Sift Cannabis Sifting Machine performs the separate size-classification step after grinding.
A common workflow is:
- Inspect and prepare the flower.
- Process the flower through the Industrial Cannabis Grinder.
- Pass the ground material through a Quick Sift with the selected screen.
- Reprocess the sifted flower if a finer particle size is required.
- Weigh or portion the prepared material.
- Fill compatible pre-rolled cones with the King Kone.
- Complete tamping, weight verification, closing, inspection, and packaging.
Neither machine detects contaminants or replaces required product inspection, testing, or quality-control procedures.
What does a Quick Sift Cannabis Sifting Machine do?
A Quick Sift processes already-ground cannabis flower through a removable mesh screen.
Depending on the selected mesh, it can help separate:
- Stems
- Large leaves
- Oversized particles
- Other unwanted or inconsistently sized material
- Kief or other fine material
More consistent prepared flower can improve filling, packing, airflow, and burn consistency.
The Quick Sift does not grind whole flower. It is also not a contaminant detector or a substitute for required product inspection, testing, or quality-control procedures.
What is the difference between the Quick Sift Mini and Quick Sift Commercial?
Both models are stainless-steel sifting machines that process already-ground material through removable, model-specific screens.
The Quick Sift Mini:
- Has a machine diameter of approximately 13.75 inches
- Uses screens measuring approximately 12 inches in diameter × 4 inches deep
- Operates on 110V power
- Is suited to compact production areas and smaller workflows
- Is available with 8-, 10-, 12-, 14-, 16-, 60-, 80-, 100-, and 120-mesh screens
The Quick Sift Commercial:
- Uses screens measuring approximately 16 inches in diameter × 5 inches deep
- Provides a larger-capacity format
- Has a published power specification of 50W and 60Hz
- Requires some assembly
- Is available with 8-, 10-, 12-, 14-, 16-, 66-, 80-, 100-, 120-, and 140-mesh screens
Published output for both models is approximately one pound of ground material in two to three minutes.
Actual throughput depends on the material, screen, batch size, moisture, desired separation, loading, and cleaning frequency.
Quick Sift Mini and Quick Sift Commercial screens are different sizes and are not interchangeable.
Which Quick Sift screen should I choose?
Lower mesh numbers have larger openings. Higher mesh numbers have smaller openings.
Screens in the 8- to 16-mesh range are generally used to separate stems, leaves, and oversized particles from ground flower. A 10- or 12-mesh screen is a practical starting point for many pre-roll applications.
Screens beginning around 60 mesh are generally intended for kief or other fine-material separation.
Choose a mesh according to:
- Starting particle size
- Flower density and moisture
- Desired particle distribution
- Material being removed or collected
- Cone dimensions
- Filling method
- Target weight
- Finished-product airflow and burn requirements
Each Quick Sift machine includes one screen in the selected model and mesh size. Additional and replacement screens are sold separately.
Test multiple screens when consistency or fine-material recovery is critical.
Can this equipment process infused, sticky, or high-moisture material?
The equipment is primarily designed for preparing and filling ground cannabis flower.
Sticky, oily, infused, or high-moisture material may:
- Clump together
- Adhere to trays or equipment
- Clog grinder or sifter screens
- Move inconsistently through filling attachments
- Slow production
- Produce inconsistent fill weights
- Increase cleaning requirements
- Affect airflow or finished-product performance
Discuss the material and application with Sana Packaging and conduct controlled testing before beginning a full production run.
Do not assume that equipment suitable for conventional ground flower will perform the same way with infused or unusually moist formulations.
How should cannabis automation equipment be cleaned and maintained?
Follow the operating, cleaning, maintenance, personal protective equipment, and electrical-safety instructions supplied for the exact machine.
General practices include:
- Disconnect equipment from power before cleaning, changing components, or servicing it when required by the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Remove loose flower after each batch.
- Clean product-contact and material-handling parts between strains, products, or lots as required by the facility’s sanitation procedures.
- Allow cleaned components to dry completely before reassembly.
- Keep motors, controls, plugs, and other electrical components dry.
